Chrissy is a talented jewelry artisan who along with her husband Dave, make their living selling their handmade jewelry at Fine Art festivals in and around Florida.

On January 1st, 2018 Chrissy was diagnosed with stage 4 invasive breast cancer. She immediately went through 9 months of chemo and radiation. October of 2018 Chrissy was declared pathologically cancer free.

In February 2019 Chrissy began to feel dizzy and tired and lost her balance easily, and after a series of CT scans and MRIs she was diagnosed with 2 metastatic brain tumors. Gamma Knife radiation was done to shrink these tumors. After several months of working with her doctors Chrissy was told she had a great response to the Gamma Knife, and would not need any more medical tests or diagnosis until September.

Chrissy and Dave decided to take some time away from home to rest up for the next round of medical tests. They got into their RV for a trip to Asheville, North Carolina. Shortly after entering Moultrie, Georgia something on the engine of their RV suddenly caught fire. Dave was able to quickly pull the RV into a parking lot where it continued to spread despite Dave’s attempts to put it out with two fire extinguishers, and the RV ultimately burned to the ground. Both Dave and Chrissy and their dog Gypsy were able to get out of the RV relatively uninjured. The insurance covered about half of the value of the RV and contents, Unfortunately the insurance money received is going towards their numerous medical bills that had already piled up to this point and the replacement of some clothing and personal necessities for everyday life lost in the fire.

Returning home after this ordeal, Chrissy began to again feel wobbly on her feet. After consulting with her doctor. Her doctor decided to do some precautionary tests. After a CT scan, neurological exams, blood tests and two more MRIs, only partially covered by insurance, Chrissy was then diagnosed with metastatic cerebral-spinal fluid leptomeningeal brain cancer in the lining surrounding her brain and into her spinal column. She has just had surgery to place a chemo port and fluid drain into her brain, and awaits the beginning of the next phase of treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Even with insurance, the medical costs of dealing with all of this as self-employed artist are growing. We are humbly asking for support from our friends and family to help pay for these growing medical and personal bills. We appreciate everyone’s concern and support during this very difficult time.

You can be part of Chrissy's Warrior team, whether through your donations, prayers or positive thoughts for her successful progress as this next round of treatments are about to begin. Thank you for your time and anything you can help out with to lessen the impact on their increasing financial and personal distress.
