Christa Dittman- Lincoln’s lung journey
Donation protected
A couple of weeks before Christmas, Lincoln contracted a virus. He struggled with the virus for several weeks until, on the 4th trip to Emergency room, the doctors advised that
the virus had progressed into pneumonia and sent him home with amoxicillin. While on his take-home antibiotics, his sickness did not seem to be improving and by Christmas Day, he was practically lifeless and clearly very I’ll. The day after Christmas, Lincoln’s family took him to be seen at Cincinnati Children Hospital, where he was admitted. At the time of being admitted, Lincoln’s left lung was so filled with pneumonia that it was pushing his internal organs, heart and trachea, to the side. In order to relieve the pressure and help his little body heal, a stint was placed in his lung to help drain the fluid. Since he was admitted on 12/26, Lincoln’s stent remains and the doctors are unable to advise on when he can be discharged from the hospital. At this time, although he is in great hands and at Cinci Childrens, his lungs are still filled with fluid and his healing is slow-moving. Even once he is discharged, the recovery process will continue.
As of January 5th, Lincoln has been in the hospital for a total of 12 days. In that time, Lincoln’s mom, Christa, has remained faithfully by her sons side throughout all of the pokes and prods. Although Christa would not have missed being there for Lincoln for the world, being present at the hospital also has meant that she has been unable to work. Although her life has been temporarily paused by this terrible illness, unfortunately, the bills have not. With three other children still at home and ongoing financial responsibilities, the hospital stay has been very taxing on their family.
The purpose of his Go Fund Me is to politely ask, if you are able, to consider making a financial donation to Christa and her family so that the financial toll of Lincoln’s hospitalization does not hinder their family any further. If you are unable to make a financial contribution, prayers are welcomed and much appreciated.
