Christa Luker with Medication copay and travel

I am starting this Go fund me for my daughter Christa Luker to help with travel expenses to and from UK and to help cover the expensive copay for the injections.

As many of you know Christa was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine cancer in Dec of 2021. She had surgery to remove the tumor which ended up costing her over half of her small and large intestines. While we are thankful she has remained No Evidence of Disease she is unfortunately dealing with the consequences of losing so much of her digestive system and her body fighting to keep the cancer from coming back (Neuroendocrine Cancer is a slow growing cancer that will inevitably come back and can cause issues long before it is ever detected by testing). On a daily basis Christa deals with excessive diarrhea, nausea, dehydration and abdominal pain. The Oncologist she sees at UK has recommended that Christa starts a once every 28 day injection for a medication called Lanreotide. This medication should help relieve some of these symptoms and is the front line treatment for Neuroendocrine cancer. Unfortunately for her to get this medication she will have to travel to UK once every 28 days for the next 2-4 months to have it administered at her Oncologist office, then hopefully they can find somewhere local to give it. She will also have to stay over night once the injection is given somewhere close to ensure if she has an allergic reaction she can be treated quickly for it. Along with the travel cost there will also be an increased copay for the injections as they are very expensive and their insurance will only cover so much of it.

I am asking for any assistance you can give to help alleviate the financial burden this will put on their family. If you cannot afford to donate it is completely understandable and we understand! Just please say some prayers and share!
