Update on 5/10/2020
A lot has taken place in the past two years, an update is in order.
First, I would like to say thank you to everyone that has helped and continues to help my family through this process. The help and love that was given was a God send, and there are no words that can accurately describe my gratitude and appreciation.
Second, in honor of Riley's bravery and sacrifice, the family has set up a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called The Christian Riley Garcia Foundation. In honor of Riley's spirit, the foundation aims to give back, by helping youth accomplish and participate in activities, and/ or pursue life endeavors such as furthering education, outdoor sports, and following God's path laid for Riley.
Due to the Pandemic, we’ve been unable to open our non-profit account since receiving our 501(c)(3) status. Therefore, temporary donations will be received through this GoFundMe account. Any and all monitory collections or donations after 5/10/2020 will now go directly to the The Christian Riley Garcia Foundation. The family will no longer be receiving any money, as the original purpose of this account was created. As soon as a bank account is obtained, all donations will go through the foundation website below.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping my nephew's memory alive. Please see the link to the foundation below for more information and updates.

On Friday May 18th 2018 Christian "Riley" was tragically taken from his family and friends while in class at Santa Fe High School. He was a loving and energetic 15 year old who cared very deeply for his family and younger sister. He was an amazing young man who gave his life trying to protect others in his class. This campaign is being set up to assist his grieving family with daily expenses they may need to cover during this time of mourning and loss that no parents or family should ever have to endure. Our family thanks you for your well wishes, thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time in our lives.

Thank you for helping us reach our initial goal. I cant thank you all enough for giving my family the generosity and outpouring of love and continued support that you have. Our lives are forever changed by this tragedy and every one of you have allowed my family some extra time to grieve and try to find a way to heal, if that is even possible. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support through all of this.
To the concerned: My name is Amber Claussen, from Santa Fe, born and raised. I am Christian's aunt, his daddy's sister, and his mother's sister(in-law.) I will be dispersing the funds directly to the immediate family, my brother and sister, once the funding is closed via a savings account in the appropriate names. All donations will go to the immediate family.
