Christie Lee Saggiomo

On Sunday February 25, 2024 in New Jersey, we unexpectedly lost a piece of our hearts. Christie Lee Saggiomo nee Johnson (65 years of age; born April 5, 1958 in Kingsport, TN) was a wife to Cosmo, mother to Angelo (Erin), Jessica (Eleni) & Matthew (Kylie), grandmother to Quinton, Zakynthos, Kyleigh & Jimmy (Deb), daughter to Charlotte (predeceased), Linda (predeceased) & Hal, sister to Rachel (Tom) and Terri (Jeff), Colton (Peggy), Bobby, aunt to Zoe, Kimberly & Katie, as well as a friend to many.

She had an uncanny way of turning a day from bad to good through a few simple, kind words. She always had something nice to say. Chris would do anything for anyone if it meant that their day would be brighter. Her love was also shared through her skilled cooking, which filled many with nourishment and comfort. We grew up often wondering why she would never sit down, never stop working, and always ask us the same repeated questions. “What can I get for you? Do you need anything? Are you hungry?”

As children, we never understood the value of it all. Yet upon reflection, it now comes into focus. She was showing us kids (at the time), how to be genuinely good people, how to give through your actions and how to show love to each other. Those who knew her became better people for it.

Chris, we cannot thank you enough for shaping our hearts by showing us the true meaning of humanity. You will be missed dearly. For anyone who knew Christie or can empathize with her way of living, the family is accepting donations to help defray her end-of-life expenses. We are presenting the opportunity for others to give to her as she so often did for us. See the link below if interested.

To honor Chris' end of life wishes, services are private at this time. However, we all know how much Chris was loved and how much she loved to entertain. A celebration of her life is tentatively being planned for sometime in April. Please check back for updates on a time and place.

In the words of her favorite actress Lucille Ball, “One of the things often learned the hard way in life is that it doesn't pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore faith in humanity.”

In reference to Forrest Gump, one of her favorite movies, she is now in heaven and “you can’t sit here, her seat is taken.”

Visitation and cremation is private. Condolences and memories can be shared below.
