Christina Kendrat's Medical Bills & Support Fund

Hi everyone,
On behalf of Christina and her family, I am starting this campaign to help with the cost of her recent/previous medical diagnoses. If there is one thing Christina is, it's resilient. Since she was 13, Christina had dealt with extreme abdominal pain that was later diagnosed as PCOS and endometriosis when she was 16. She lives a very active lifestyle, spending nearly every day at the gym, and does her best not to let the pain and the diagnoses hold her back. She has tried many ways to help ease the severe abdominal pain, such as removing/adding things to her diet, trying different birth controls, pain medications, homeopathic remedies, undergoing a surgical procedure, and more.
This past January, Christina underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove the scar tissue caused by endometriosis that had built up since her pain began. It eased some of her pain for a while but the severity of it began to return mid-April. She consulted her doctors who assured her it was her PCOS acting up and that she would feel better soon. Fast forward five weeks, the fevers, chills and extreme pain prompted her to visit urgent care where they prescribed antibiotics for what they thought could possibly be an infection. For days following this visit, Christina was in so much pain she could not leave her room, and her mother made the trip from Virginia to Boston to be with her. Around 2 am Monday morning, her fever was so high and the pain was so unbearable that she checked into the ER where she was given a new diagnosis: appendicitis. Throughout the five weeks of pain, her appendix had partially burst and she recently had a drainage catheter put in to drain the abscess. For now, she will have the drain for a couple more weeks and will take antibiotics until her appendix is removed. However, her appendix will not be removed until about a month from now, which means she will be out of work for not only that month but the recovery period following as well.
Through all of this, Christina has continued to excel academically and be a great friend/support to her peers and family. For five weeks, Christina had continued to work out, study and finish her final exams and assignments, doing her best to overcome the intense pain from the appendicitis. Her ability to carry on as normal during this time speaks volumes about the amount of pain she has been experiencing for years while dealing with PCOS and endometriosis. The goal of this fundraiser is to not only help with her current medical situation, but give her the access to resources that will help her manage her pain in the future. Please consider donating and sharing, and keep Christina and her family in your prayers. <3
