Christina Needs Help to Keep Her Home

Hi, my name is Christina.

In 2020, I lost my father. When I lost him, I spiraled into a depression and consequently a spending and hoarding problem. Over the last two years, I've been getting better, and have stopped spending on things that don't matter and have been working on cleaning, but I'm now in a bit of a rough spot and need some help getting out of it.

I need help paying my property taxes from last year (2024). I'm currently about $48,000 in debt, enrolled in a debt relief program to try and get that settled, and I need some help getting my last year's property taxes paid. I had some really unexpected expenses come up (I currently have a rodent problem, I had to pay for a new key to be made for a loaner car which was a little over $400.00, and my electric bill was $380 for the month of January due to an extreme cold snap), and I'm struggling to come up with the money to pay the property taxes from last year. There is a tax credit program I was unaware of until the end of December, and the cutoff date was in October. I have applied for the program for 2025 and am currently waiting to hear back. I currently owe $5262.55, with the amount subject to go up the longer I go without paying. Final tax notices go out on March 1, and I have until April 1 to pay before my house goes up for tax sale. I will be making payments on this as I am able to. I don't have much coming back in the form of a tax return, but what I am getting back will be going towards the taxes. Since my car was repossessed, I am also going to be using the money I am getting back from canceling my car insurance towards the tax bill. I have been applying to jobs that are within walking distance to help supplement the income I get from my day job. My amount is set to $6000 because I have no idea if this will get funded; any extra will go towards needed repairs on my house.
