Christina Nye DOG BITE WOUND
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Laura Robinson, I am Christina's mother-in-law. On March 29th Christina was bitten by our neighbor's unleashed husky, whilst attempting to enter our gate with our granddaughter. She was taken immediately to the emergency room, where they treated the bite and gave her the required shots.
Christina went back to the ER on April 3rd as her foot had become infected. She had to wait seven hours before they could start treating the infection and get her omitted.
She is suffering from acute cellulitis and a hematoma in her left foot. Her MRI showed a full-length canine puncture wound, with possible damage to her tendon.
On April 7th Christina had surgery but has to restart her recovery, which means she is at 0% pressure on her foot. The surgeon is uncomfortable sending her home right now, as the laceration in her foot is 1.5cm X 1.5cm wide and she needs critical wound care in case of further infection.
Christina is self-employed and works as a private caregiver for people of all ages with disabilities, and critical care patients. This requires full mobility and strength. There are many unknowns for how long her recovery will be, and if she will ever have the full function of her foot.
I am reaching out to family, friends and our community, to help raise funds to assist with monthly bills and expenses during this difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
Sincerely,
Laura Robinson
