Christina Rusca Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Dear friends and family of Christina Traylor Rusca,
Our beloved friend has recently been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). We are asking for your love and prayers to rally around Christina, who needs our support during her journey with this horrible disease.
She has sought trusted medical care, and treatment plans are scheduled to soon begin. As with any unexpected illness/disease, Christina's family was not prepared for the overwhelming costs associated with the treatment being recommended by her doctors.
Christina's in-network and out-of-network insurance coverage does not overlap, and insurance does not at all cover one of her required procedures. Expected out of pocket expenses have already exceeded $40,000.
So this campaign has been launched by her family and friends, in hopes that some of you will find it in your hearts to give anything you can to help offset some of these exorbitant medical expenses. Coming to terms with the fact you have the "Big C" is bad enough, having to worry about how you will come up with the funds necessary to fight the "Big C" is an additional burden no one should have to bear the brunt of alone.
Christina is 38 years old, a native of Ponchatoula and a resident of Mandeville. She is a daughter, a grand daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and a step-mother. She is married to Ralph Rusca and they share a beautiful 14 year old daughter, Ainsley. She is employed in the banking industry, and is currently working additional long hours to try and put a dent in the medical bills that are already piling up. Christina has dedicated most of her adult life to serving the communities in which she lives and works, and she believes that service to humanity is the best work of life. She is one of the strongest women that many of us know. Up to this point she has tried to be completely self-sufficient and handle this journey privately on her own. She recently told me accepting the reality that she can't do that any longer, may be harder on her than the actual cancer itself. Several of you reading this have known Christina for years, and she humbly wants to express from the bottom of her heart, her gratitude for your support. Thank you for anything your heart leads you to give no matter how small it may seem to you, know that it means the world to Christina and her family.
