Christina (Tina) Parnell

My lovely mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2015, although she had been dealing with early stages of dementia n before this date. My mum worked extremely hard all her life and should have been enjoying her retirement - instead she was dealing with confusion, anxiety paranoia and situations which left her very vulnerable. She was unable to look after herself and in 2017 my mum had to reside in a nursing home. The disease progressed taking away her memories and stopped her making new memories and eventually took away her voice. She still maintained her wonderful sense of humour and smiled when she could. The disease eventually took its toll on her body making her fragile weak and immobile. Towards the end it took away her wonderful smile. On the 09th June 22, my mum passed Away in hospital after being there a very short time.
