Important Note: As a fantastic group of family, friends and strangers, we reached the latest $5000 match on 10/8! Thanks so much to all of you!
Strong. Determined. Passionate. Resilient. Fierce. Unstoppable. These are just a few words that immediately come to mind when I think of my sister Christine.
I have always been inspired and impressed with Christine's approach to life. She has always had an adventurous spirit. Whether it is sky diving or making a move to another state (not once but twice), she embraces all that life has to offer!
Cancer entered Christine's life in 2016, and it hasn't stopped her. My sister has cancer (2 different kinds, if you want to get specific), but she is not defined by it. Although some people might say she is "fighting" cancer, she prefers to say that she is living and thriving while managing cancer. Her adventurous spirit still thrives, and she continues to inspire me daily.
Metastatic cancer is relentless, and so is my sister; she is not one to shy away from a challenge. Christine has a phenomenal medical team and continues to receive the best possible care in Montana and Utah.
However, Western Medicine is not the only way to treat cancer. With your support, we can provide financial assistance to help cover the costs of treatments that are not covered by insurance.
Christine, Bryan and the kids are blessed to have such an unbelievable support system. We are all grateful for the support shown, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I'm Dori, and I met Christine in the fall of 2019 at Camp Mak-a-Dream. I fell in love with her instantly. Her energy and positive outlook in the face of all she goes through has impacted my life as I too walk this journey with Ovarian Cancer. Staring at the big elephant in the room we call mortality.
We have laughed and cried together as we search for answers and a cure. We both do our best to marry standard-of-care medicine with integrative therapies knowing that if we only go down the western medicine road, it will eventually kill us.
I've been fortunate enough to afford many different kinds of alternative treatments on my quest. Some have been useful, others a complete failure. Trying to beat cancer is not only a full-time job but extremely expensive.
I recently began a program at Causenta Wellness Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Tom Incledon is pulling out miracles with cancer patients using a different approach than all the other integrative treatment centers out there.
The biggest thing Dr. Tom brings to the table is his extensive research and his ability to get to the bottom of WHY someone has cancer, not just treat the symptoms with whatever the current drug regimen is. Then he gets to work on removing those things that keep us in our disease. He has us strengthen our body with exercise under oxygen and several other treatment modalities that enhance our natural killer cells so they can do their job and kill cancer.
I believe if Christine gets the chance to be treated by Dr. Tom, it will significantly impact her life and could put her back in remission (No Evidence of Disease).
This Go Fund Me can help make that happen!
Hey everyone, thanks for reading this far! It's Christine. Please know that Bryan and I would never want anyone to donate to us if it negatively impacts your family. We would be so grateful if you feel inspired to share with your in-person and social media networks! Prayers, positive vibes and healing energy are all welcomed and appreciated. I am overcome with gratitude for each donation that comes in. This money allows me to get integrative treatments designed specifically for my body, blood, and genetics. After Dori mentioned me and a little about my crazy past six years to Dr. Tom, he said, "give her my number and have her text me."
We sent a few texts, and he asked if he could call me on a Saturday. Bryan & I chatted with him for at least 90 minutes. Not many docs do that! And without a charge. I figured we'd get 30 minutes of his time, but he was patient, kind, and unrushed. He asked me whether I had received specific testing. Sadly my answer was always no, and the worst part was that I had never even heard of some of them in my six-year journey. That shows a little of what's wrong with Western Med. He answered all our questions and explained much of what he does. Not even five minutes in, I looked at Bryan & we both had the same look (we NEED to find a way to work with this guy!) The bonus is that I don't have to leave the country, making it easier for my family. Bryan and the kids can get to me, my dad can get to me, and we have family & friends in AZ from living there for 12 years. Let's be real; if I'm going to go through treatment, then at least I can go through it with Dori, one of my favorite people.
As always, please respect my kids' privacy. As you can imagine, it's not something they naturally want to talk about.
To avoid confusion, we turned off our last GoFundMe. Here are a few things that fundraiser allowed me to do: visit a fantastic Integrative Clinic in Mexico for their initial 3-week program and a 10-day maintenance visit seven months later. I was also able to pay for supplements, medical bills, and my nearly $1200 copay for my current treatments I receive once every three weeks. We are forever grateful for every $1 donated. I will transfer all the updates to my blog in the next few days. To see the cliff notes version of my journey from 2016-2021, click here
Not a fan of GoFundMe? You have other options. A) send money via Venmo @Christine-Appleton-2, or B) if you aren't into any of the ways to electronically transfer funds, there is no shame in mailing a check (contrary to popular belief, the mail is not delivered here by horse and buggy, at least not in Bozeman, & I still write checks so no, I don't think writing a check makes you old.) Any way you donate will be counted towards the match funds.
