Christine Daugherty's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Hello Everyone!
On July 28th, my mother Christine was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer.
On August 18th, she was rushed to the hospital with signs of motor and cognitive impairment. A CT scan revealed a brain tumor with significant associated vasogenic edema (an extracellular accumulation of fluid).
Christine is home now and has been given medications to manage symptoms of the edema and to help prevent potential seizures. We meet with the neurologist on Friday (9/2) to discuss the results of her recent MRI and to start developing a treatment plan - consisting of radiation and chemotherapy treatments. It is my understanding that due to the location of the brain tumor and the nature of the breast metastases, surgery will not be a treatment option at this time.
My mom will be unable to work through her cancer treatments and remission, and requires additional support. Jax and I have been living in Bend for the past few weeks caring for her and driving her to her daily doctor's appointments.
For those of you who are interested in making a donation, all proceeds will go towards helping Christine subsidize her medical bills, transportation costs, housing and living expenses while she is unable to work.
Thank you for all your prayers and support during this difficult time!
