Christine Lewis

Christine Lewis is a valued LACC employee and member of the Lake Almanor Basin. Unfortunately, on August 6, 2020, Christine suffered a right temporal lobe stroke, which has affected her short term memory.
After Christine was taken to Seneca District Hospital, her family discovered she had an aneurysm that had ruptured. Christine was then life-flighted to Renown Medical Center in Reno where the family was informed that they had to put drain right away to relieve the pressure on her brain. The critical surgery Christine needed was too complex for the surgeon and surgical team to perform, so she was flown by helicopter to UC Davis Medical Center.
Christine’s family, Jim, Caitlyn, and Gabrielle, then drove three hours to UC Davis Hospital. After multiple scans, Christine received surgery on 8/7/20, at 5:30 PM, and doctors inserted two coils in her brain.
After spending three weeks in the Surgical ICU, Christine was then transferred to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center at the UC Davis Medical Center. Since being discharged on 9/19/20, Christine has been receiving in-home occupational, physical, and speech therapy. Christine is still waiting for Enloe Hospital to schedule the outpatient therapies she needs.
Due to the severity of Christine’s condition, her treatment is indefinite. If you would like to contribute to Christine’s GoFundMe account, please go the link:
