Sean suffered an aortic dissection Monday while unloading cabinets at work. The physical stress to his body caused this tear in the inner layer of his body's main artery, his aorta. When this happened it caused him to lose blood flow to his right leg and he lost all feeling in that leg. He underwent a 5 hour emergency bypass surgery at 12:45 am on June 13 to restore the blood flow to his leg which thankfully was successful. In order to avoid further damage to the right leg they had to do a double fasciotomy to allow for the release of tension and pressure in order to treat the loss of circulation to his leg. Sean will not be able to go back to work for quite some time and is now unable to provide for his family! Sean is an amazing husband of 15 years to his wife Christine and an even better father to their three beautiful children, Trish (13), Nate (13), and Charlee (3). The aortic dissection is something that Sean will now have to manage with the help of his doctors for the rest of his life. This is not something that will go away in time. Sean is a good man! He always puts himself and helps everyone he can even when he doesn't have the means to do so. Sean is selfless and kind. He is humble and loves and cares for everyone he meets. This is going to be a long road ahead for Sean and his family and he needs to be able to focus solely on his recovery.
