In memory of Christine Stoner

On Saturday 2nd March Mum passed away. She was the strongest, bravest person having lived with MS for 35 years. She continually defied the odds and despite her illness she was never one to grumble and always had a smile on her face.
For the last 13 years Mum resided at Darlington Court Care Home. It became her second home and the staff became her second family.
The caring, friendly staff and their understanding of her illness allowed Mum to be as well as she was, for as long as she was, ensuring she could make the best and most of her life. They were also incredibly supportive of the whole family.
When able she embraced the activities and enjoyed skittles, bingo, sing alongs, sit, fit and sing, visits from Elvis to name just a few.
The care home aim to grant every resident a wish. For Mums last birthday, as everyone knew her love of horses she had a visit from a miniature pony. The pony was able to go up in the lift, along to her bedroom and bedside and nuzzle against her.
In lieu of flowers at her funeral we would like to ask for donations to Darlington Court. This would help them continue to provide the residents with the wonderful experiences and entertainment programmes, bringing a smile to their faces just as they did for Mum.
