Christmas Act of Kindness 2020
Donation protected
For many long-distance lorry drivers, Christmas Day is just another day at work. It can be an emotional time and many drivers feel lonely and isolated.
Many HGV drivers are unable to get back to their families over Christmas and will continue to work throughout the Christmas period to make sure we can all get food and presents at the shops.
Delivering unexpected gifts to them on Christmas Day is a small way that we can show our appreciation and gratitude.
We hope that with the support of individuals and businesses in the area we’ll be able to hand out many more gifts to any drivers we find at the Red Lion Truck Stop and potentially to other drivers at other motorway services in Northampton on Christmas Day.
How you can get involved
You can show your support by donating money through our Go Fund Me page. The money will be used to buy food and gifts for
HGV Drivers on the road on Christmas Day.
We are also appealing to businesses and individuals to donate items that drivers might find handy on the road. These could be toiletries and anti-bacterial hand gel, as well as treats such as non-perishable food items like sweets, chocolates, and drinks.
We would be pleased to hear from anyone who wants to help deliver gifts to drivers on Christmas Day. This would be organised with any Covid-19 restrictions regarding gatherings in mind, obviously”
If you would like to support our Christmas Act of Kindness with donations, they can be dropped off at our office at Suite 58, Burlington House East Wing, 369 Wellingborough Road, Northampton until Friday, December 18.
We are teaming up with DriversHGV.uk / kierowcyhgv.uk who kindly donated four of their HGV Drivers Dairies to campaign supporters. If you would like to be included in the draw please email [email redacted].uk
For more details or to arrange for your donations to be collected please contact Damian at NN1 Personnel.
