‘Christmas Blessing’ for less fortunate children

Tax deductible
Angel Burnett of Buffalo is a single mom who works two jobs and does the very best she can to provide for her four children ages 16, 11, 8, and 3. Her 11-year-old son is currently battling bone cancer. He was diagnosed two years ago and receives treatment at Roswell.

“We are just trying to make it. I work two jobs and try to manage being a mom, working and taking care of my son and his needs, as well as my other children’s needs,” said Burnett.

It’s a position that many of us could find ourselves struggling to be in and with Christmas around the corner, money is tight. That’s why Kate Tolley is hoping to give a nice Christmas to less fortunate children in WNY in memory of her dad, John Tolley, who she suddenly lost this year.

“Christmas blessing began over three years ago and it was inspired by my dad because of how he never wanted to forget what Christmas was actually about. My father did anything to help anyone, any time of the day and I want to continue the tradition in his memory,” she said.

Coincidentally, the Hope House shelter called Kate for some major help. In the shelter there are 12 girls ranging between 16 and 2 years old who won’t have Christmas presents and nine (9) boys ages 5 months to 18 years now old. And then there are families like the Burnett children who aren’t homeless but are still struggling to make ends meet and deserve a real Christmas, too.

Sweet Buffalo has decided to team up with Kate Tolley and her family to make this a reality but we need all of your help! New unwrapped gifts for children from infant to 18 years old will be accepted at Bada Bing, 42 W. Chippewa Street in Buffalo from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. any day of the week. You can also donate to Bliss Salon, located at 1246 Payne Avenue in North Tonawanda or Change MS, located at 1100 Military Road in Buffalo, and Own NY Real Estate courtesy of Marilyn Sinatra at 8623 Main St. in Williamsville, Gramma Mora’s, 1475 Hertel Ave., Buffalo, Just Pizza, located at 2319 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, Sweat Society, 1382 Hertel Ave in Buffalo and Painting with a Twist, 1054 Union Road, West Seneca (Southgate Plaza).
