Christmas Box Appeal 2024

Hi everyone, it’s that time of year again! This will be the 11th year I have organised the Christmas box donations. A big thank you to everyone who has taken part previously and a huge welcome to any new supporters.

In 2022 I was recognised for my charitable work and awarded a Platinum Jubilee Civic Award by Ashford Borough Council which wouldn't have happened had I not have so many people willing to support.

For the last 10 years, I have organised a Christmas Box Donation Appeal which has provided Christmas presents to vulnerable children all over Kent. This has grown from 32 boxes helping just one charity in 2014 to now over 500 boxes helping many children living within Domestic Violence Refuges, Oasis, Choices, Dads Unlimited. Charities such as Homestart, Dandelion Time, Caldecott and Action For Children. Due to Covid in 2020, the appeal was in the form of a GoFundMe donations page, that allowed me to purchase gifts for the children from their wish lists, this worked well given the situation and some people preferred donating rather than completing a box.

Since 2020 I have run both methods side by side to allow people to select their preference: GoFund Me and the individual boxes. The GoFund Me donations are used to complete any boxes that are not allocated, as well as; topping up any boxes that may need it so no child has less than another. Any collective gifts requested for the children to use together. In previous years I have purchased, goal posts, Wendy houses, bikes. I have also purchased Christmas trees/Christmas decoration for the refuges, cots, highchairs etc and gifts for mum.

The more supporters we have whether that be in form of a box or donations, the more charities I can reach out to and provide Christmas presents for more children.

I will keep this appeal open until the end of November. This allows me the time to purchase the gifts and deliver them to the homes. Before I deliver them, I will add a photo of all the presents to this page so you can see what we have achieved collectively.
