Happy Holidays at Ethel Taylor Academy

My name is Jenn Rockel and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist for an elementary school in the Cincinnati Public Schools district. Ethel M. Taylor Academy is a Title I. elementary school (Preschool to 6th grade) located in Millvale, one of Cincinnati’s most underprivileged neighborhoods-5 miles away from downtown. 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch and approximately 20% of the students being homeless. Many of my students don’t have enough food to eat or the proper clothes to wear. Most live in the public housing projects surrounding the school. School is a safe place where they feel loved and cared for.

This year, my goal is to “adopt” a 1st grade and 3rd grade class for the holidays. Each student would be able to receive a toy from their “wishlist” before they leave for winter break. For some students, this will be one of the only presents they receive. If you are wanting to donate to a child in need this year, please consider helping our cause! They would be THRILLED!
