Christmas Crash

My name is Eugene Cuomo, and this one car accident happened to my friend and hair stylist, A.J. Kind, on Christmas Day on Egg Lake Rd. on San Juan Island. She was on her way to pick up Mary Wutzl, an elderly lady who doesn't drive,  for Christmas dinner at my home.  Miraculously she was not injured, but her Jeep, which had belonged to her mother who died suddenly in 2014, did not fair so well.  Aj had just put a new motor in her beloved Jeep, which is obviously a total loss, and did not have full coverage insurance. Aj is a hairstylist and nail tech of 19 years and owns the salon "AJ's One of a Kind Salon" which is located inside The Village at the Harbour, an assisted living facility at 543 Spring St. in Friday Harbor. She is one of the best people I know, not to mention a good stylist and a fabulous pedicurist. She takes care of so many people on this Island.  I can't say enough about how generous Aj is with not only by reducing her prices so that they are affordable for everyone, but also her time .She doesn't charge extra if she has to go pick up homebound people, or if she goes to their home to take care of their beauty or personal grooming needs. She is the same Aj that used to work at Christy's Island Salon that Christy keeps telling everyone she moved to eastern WA. But she didn't, she's been here all along. I think it is time to give back and help Aj in her time of need. If anyone has a good running vehicle they could donate or just donate to the cause of getting Aj another car, she would gladly reciprocate with a haircut or any service she offers. Let's help take care of Aj so she can continue to take care of all of us. God Bless !
