Holiday Decorations for Wrightsville

***UPDATE: To ensure we have a brighter, more beautiful main street and tree lighting ceremony in Wrightsville this holiday season, we are organizing an effort to restore our town’s vintage telephone pole mount decorations. We are also giving the 4th Street tree-lighting square a holiday makeover with new lights, a new tree topper, and other festive decor!

We will still work to raise the funds needed to purchase NEW decorations within the next 2-3 years.

100% of every dollar donated goes directly toward the purchase of holiday decor. We will provide updates on the total amount raised and we will also provide a list of supplies and decor purchased along with a cost breakdown of these items.

Wrightsville Borough's Holiday Decorations (most purchased in the 1970s and 1980s!) have deteriorated and they need to be replaced. A volunteer committee of area residents is working to address this challenge. It will take about $50,000 total to replace the current decorations, and the Borough does not have the funds to cover this cost.

New decorations are expensive; a properly sized holiday pole mount for a single light or telephone pole will cost $1500 or more. A new skyline or arch across Hellam Street costs considerably more. Our Christmas tree lighting square on 4th Street needs a complete holiday makeover.

We have set a 3-year goal to raise $50,000. Our initial Go Fund Me fundraising goal will be $15,000.
