Christmas Store 2020: 350@$35

Each year hundreds of children in St. Charles are given the gift of Christmas through generous toy and monetary donations from local partners and generous individuals just like you! The Christmas Store was designed to help both parents and children. For parents with financial or family hardship, it offers a sense of empowerment to make Christmas special for their kids. Families in need do not want to be defined by their need and often have a difficult time accepting charity. The Christmas Store helps parents in need by giving them a strong sense of pride and dignity as they personally select and purchase gifts for their kids at 10% of retail price. For many of these families, the opportunity to participate in the Christmas Store is the difference between having presents under the tree or not having Christmas at all. For their children, each newly wrapped gift is one of joy, hope, and love. A moment to be a child. A moment to cast aside the struggles of the world around them. 

Serve St. Charles is a local St. Charles, Missouri non-profit that partners with counselors and social workers from both St. Charles and Orchard Farm School Districts to locate families with the greatest need. Serve St. Charles will invite as many referred families as possible based on the donations received. These parents will come to the Christmas Store in December to shop for their children. Parents will join us for breakfast, “shop” and purchase up to three gifts per child, and have those gifts wrapped by our volunteers! 100% of the funds raised through the Christmas Store are used to purchase toys for the Christmas Store the following year. 

Why 350@$35? We traditionally serve between 300 and 350 children each year at the Christmas Store, referred by the counselors and social workers in our district. We believe that our community need will grow this Christmas Season, but we feel confident that 350 giving units donating $35 will give us a firm foundation for the 2020 Store!
