Christmas Toys for Birmingham children’s hospital

Hi, my name is Mia Jones and 9 years ago today was the scariest day of my life to date where I had a pacemaker fitted at the age of 13 after being told I had a complete heart block.

I have since raised over £20,000 through donations, charity nights and auctions for Birmingham children’s hospital and The British heart foundation with the help of family and friends.

In just a few months time, it will be time to go through it all again. This time with an extra lead added due to my heart function lowering.I’m nervous but I’m ready. It gave me a lease of life I didn’t know I was missing and for that I am so thankful.

while I was in hospital I was surrounded by many sick children who unfortunately didn’t make it out of hospital in time for Christmas, which is why this year I am asking for donations in order to raise funds to buy Christmas presents for the children who will be in hospital over this festive period. This is my way of giving back to the hospital that helped save my life and give me a whole new perspective on it.
