Christopher Coghlan Recovery Fund
My brother, Christopher Coghlan, sustained serious head trauma on Sunday, November 18. At his local ER in Round Rock, TX, doctors performed emergency brain surgery to stop two brain bleeds and repair a fracture to his skull.
I happened to be in Texas that week from Tennessee and was only an hour and a half away when I got a call on Monday. I met my oldest brother there at the hospital.
Christopher has shown tremendous progress since Monday, when he was unconscious and intubated. He is now able to stand and walk to the bathroom with help. His speech and short term memory is still heavily impacted by where the bleed and brain bruises occurred. He does not have recollections of the 24 hours leading up to the trauma. He struggles to remember conversations that happened both 30 seconds and 30 minutes before. Doctors said these effects could heal in a matter of weeks or linger for the rest of his life.
Thankfully, both my Mom and Dad were able to drive from Nashville, TN to Texas on Tuesday to spend the foreseeable future with Chris. Christopher is incurring large medical debt and will be unable to work indefinitely. He has two kids, Cayden & Grace, and three dogs under his care. We are asking for donations to go towards all expenses related to his recovery. All money raised will go under the care of my Dad and Mom, Perry & Patsy Coghlan, who will be staying in Austin while Chris heals.
We are grateful for any help that you are willing to give. Thank you for loving and helping our family.
