Father, son, friend, co-worker and long time Registered Nurse. Christopher “Chris” McCollum, sustained a life altering event on January 7th, 2021. He was involved in a motor vehicle accident, resulting in a spinal fractures to C5-6 with spinal cord injury. He underwent a spinal fusion of c5-7 on January 7th. He can only feel above the point of injury, with some movement to his left lower leg. Currently is residing in a Rehabilitation hospital and will soon be transferring to a short term care facility for more rehabilitation. His goal to make as much progress as possible to return to his home and be as independent as possible. Those of that know him, understand the importance of his independence and need to continue with getting stronger everyday.
We are asking for assistance with making this possible. There are many adaptive devices that are available to improve his independence at home and to help others who will be caring for him. With the unknown and possible need for several home updates, the cost will be high.
Chris has spent 25 years of his life caring for others as a nurse, putting others needs before his own and ensuring the comfort of patients. He is also a father of three great children, son to his beloved parents, brother to two brothers and a sister, friend and mentor. He is loved by so many!
Please help assist with giving back to him, restore his hope, independence and give back to someone who has given so much to others.
Thank you for your time and donation
