Single Parent Raising Five Children
Donation protected
I am a single and have five children since they were put in my care just over two years ago. I recently lost my third shift job due to losing my night time childcare. I have had three jobs since then, one did not have enough work to keep me employed and the other two let me go because of missing to many days when the babies were sick. I have a job interview tomorrow. I have also put out the word that I would paint murals and other creative works as an artist. I have fallen behind on my mortgage, electric, insurance and phone bills. I am able and willing to work, I have just not found the job, or employer that will understand when I have to miss days due to management of five children. I can deal with hardships, like having to run a water hose from the kitchen sink to a bathtub to wash clothes in the tub. I can deal with draping blankets in doorways to block of the cold in all but two rooms. I have just reached a time financially that is more than I can deal with. I have faith that these hardships will to pass but I know I have to have help. As far as the children are concerned, I have tried to help them to keep focused on school and have had them in therapy for the past two years to deal with anxieties and adjusting to changes they have gone through. They are excelling in school are are doing great otherwise. I am hoping that we won't have to move in the middle of the school year because we lose our home. If this happens I won't have immediate options of another place to go. Finding a place to go with myself and five children would cost 3 times more a month than my mortgage payment. I will start adding information about how we are doing, good or bad, as much as I can. Please help if you can.
