Christy (Christine) Charlton Roberts

Hi, my name is Tiffany, and I am writing this with a very heavy heart. My sister Christine (Christy) Charlton Roberts had a major surgery on 10/18 to remove her stomach due to cancer caused by a rare gene our family carries called CDH1. A few days after her surgery, she developed an infection that was found to be caused by an internal leak from the surgery. The infection quickly spread throughout her body, causing multi-system organ failure and then sepsis. She was then placed on life support to try and fight her body. When they began to take her off of sedation last week, she would not wake back up and is still unresponsive. The doctors ran many tests to determine what exactly happened and her prognosis. It is with intense pain that, on behalf of my family, I let you know that it was decided this beautiful soul will never wake back up, and we are saying our goodbyes. With this sudden unexpected tragedy comes a huge financial burden for her family. We need help with this burden because she, unfortunately, had no life insurance (due to quitting her job to have this surgery and having no leave available).
