Medical bills are out of control
Donation protected
In the last year my sister, Christy, a single mom, nearly lost her life catching the H1N1 virus twice, she lost her donated kidney that she received in March 2002, leaving her to dialyze everyday, and she has more sick days than well. Many days she wanted to give up and the past month has been the hardest in her life but she realized with her daughter, Shelby, getting her first college acceptance letter she still has so much to fight for.
She is not healthy enough to be put on the transplant list and her quality of life has suffered tremendously. Home dialysis requires her to be attached to the machine for 7 hours a day, 7 days a week. She also is battling skin cancer and a host of other physical challenges. Frankly, the only thing that keeps her going is her beautiful daughter, Shelby. Christy does not have the resources to pay her medical bills that continue to soar out of control and her dialysis treatment is $5000 a week - her portion is $1400 a week - which she can't afford. Her only source of income is disability, which doesn't make ends meet. Anything you can do help, would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to raise $20,000 for her. My hope is that her stress level will decrease so that she can get well enough to consider a kidney transplant. Thank you for contributing!
