Chuck Gunter needs our help.

My name is Gary Dennis, and I am raising money for Chuck.

Twenty-plus years ago, Chuck had surgery on his foot, which involved inserting screws into the bone. As often happens, one of the screws is being rejected by his foot, causing much pain. Unfortunately, that foot is also infected. The screw must be removed and the infection treated, but Chuck has no medical insurance. This is why he has put off what needs to be done.

An outstanding surgical team, one of the best in Los Angeles, will do the surgery for $2500. On top of that cost, there will also be the expense of antibiotics, physical therapy, and his loss of income during the recovery. I hope another $3000-$3500 will cover those expenses.

Chuck coached softball at La Canada High School for several decades. Many girls in our community have worked with him since third or fourth grade. Along with his high school coaching and lessons, he has also coached several summer and fall softball teams. My granddaughters, who I adopted, played on two of his summer teams and benefited from more hitting and fielding lessons than I can count. He is one of the most important adults in their lives.

Because of the danger of the infection spreading, Chuck needs this surgery now. Let's show Chuck how much we love and appreciate him. Let's raise this $6,000!
