Chuck Passmore's Coming Home Fund

Chuck Passmore was always the strong and bravest kid amoungst the fun bunch of teenagers playing on my family farm.  One night around 12 am in the summer of 1985 as we were just about to fall asleep in the barn behind the abandon farm house, the heavy iron spiked light fixture we strung up fell and stopped just inches from the faces of the boys in sleeping bags.  We started to debate who would go into the farm house to restore the power cord back into the outlet.  I reluctantly decided to jump through the open window, as not to have to walk inside the house to restore the power.  Once we settled back down a dare was put forth to go upstairs of the scary farm house, Chuck passmore, being the tough kid took the dare.  He slowly made his way up the creeky staircase and as the rest of the fun bunch waiting in silence suddenly were shocked to hear our brave friend let out a scream, in a panic.  Chuck had awaken a family of bats and one landed on his back!  This caused us all to talk about this the next day. Micah Cox told me we should make a haunted house out of the old farm house.  That comment started the life long journey of building the adventure park that is now Kersey Valley Attractions in Archdale, NC.  This season marks the 31st year in a row for Spookywoods Haunted Attraction.

Chuck Passmore's bravory to take the dare is the sole reason Kersey Valley has hosts thousands of guests each year.

Recently,  Chuck was working on one of his rental houses in a rain storm trying to repair a leak his new tenant complained about this past July 11th.  Being the tough guy he has always been depite the danger, he climbed the ladder to the roof.  He slipped and fell off the roof onto the pavemet head first. He sufford devastating injuries that left him paralayzed from the chest down.  He coded seven times in ICU, its a miracle that he overcome the grips of death so many times.  His spine was severed in several places and broken bones through out his body.

He is hoping to finally come home this October.  The family is asking for help to build a ramp and other needs that Chuck will require to return home as he had no insurace to cover the care he so desparately needs.

Please help our brave friend to come home again and make the toughest part of his life a little easier.  With your help we will get a ramp into the home built and funds for a bed and power chair.

Thank you for your consideration to help out the guy who sparked the idea that brings laughter and screams to so many kids and families in NC each fall at Kersey Valley Attractions.
