Chunky's Life-Saving Surgery Fund

Im making this gofundme on behalf of my best friend and my stepbrother. 2 nights ago in Brant, MI their dog Chunky, was hit by a vehicle. This person did not stop and has not been identified. It was late and dark so it was impossible to see the vehicle. Chunky was rushed to the vet. Her oxygen levels were 81, she had a ruptured lung module, and a broken rib. She was then transferred to MSU where we thought she was becoming more stable. She came home today (Thursday March 6th) and they noticed her gums were super pale while trying to give her medicine. They took her back to the vet where they were told she has fluid built up around her lungs and heart. They are keeping her overnight again to try to drain the fluid. However, if that doesnt work the only next step is either a $15,000 surgery or euthanasia. Chunky is a puppy. She’s not even 3 years old yet. She lives in the same house as her mom who is not doing well because of what happened. Any money raised will go towards whatever decision they feel is best when the time comes to make that choice. Any and all contributions are appreciated.

update from the owner: the vet drained 800ml of blood mixed fluid (26 whole cups) and said it is no longer filling with fluid. Her o2 went back up so they were able to take her back off. She's looking better for now but we could use all the prayers and thoughts we can get right now. Thank you all for caring as much as you guys do.

second update: she has had an additional 900ml of blood/fluid removed from her chest. She has a chest tube in, is on oxygen, and is receiving blood transfusions. Waiting to decide if she will need to be transferred to MSU for a cat scan and the surgery.
