"Making One Person Smile Can Change the World. May be not the Whole World, But Their World" Sarkar Akhtar Masih was born in Pakistan has been living in America for the last 35 years, busy making his life as a taxi driver. He spent all of his years in worldly things. But on 7th July 2015, God called and chose him to serve God as an evangelist. His heart was burdened on the plight of Christians of Pakistan. Under the vision, he began striving for the betterment and welfare of the Pakistani Christian community. To bring people closer to Jesus Christ, he founded a ministry under the name of ROPE and thought of building a church in a village. He started setting aside his tithes and offerings to accomplish the task. After untiring efforts of full 7 years, he was able to accumulate a huge amount of almost 30,000 USD which is equal to PKR (5,000,000)- to turn his vision into a mission and bought a piece of land in Pakistan to build the church and The following projects are part of vision Church Building, Sunday School for Children, Orphanage, Old House, School and Monthly Support Program which will be run for the “Honor of IQBAL MASIH”. Iqbal Masih was born to a rural family just outside of Lahore in 1983. He was sold into bonded labour at a very early age to a local employer named Gullah who owned a carpet weaving business. His father had borrowed money from the employer for some purpose to repay the loan, Iqbal had to work as a bonded labor. He worked daily for 12 hours, 7 days a week. And then managed to escape when he was ten but was caught and brought by the police (no other) to his native place. Then, he was sent again to the carpet weaver. He escaped again and this time he joined Bonded Labor Liberation Front of Pakistan. He worked with them to free the children like himself and was successful in freeing about 3000 children. He was shot dead in 1995 when he was only 11 years old. His death remains a controversy as some claim he was shot dead by carpet weaving mafia while others say he was shot dead by a farmer. However, his legacy lives on, and United States Department of Labor has an annual award in his honor : The Iqbal Masih Award. Sadly in his home country he is hardly known! Let's appreciate the strong little being who did more good in his short life than most of us have ever done. Hats off to you, hero!
