Intro
Hey, all!
My name is Cielo and I am seeking donations to receive gender-affirming top surgery with Dr. Gallagher. I'm on a journey to be myself and comfortable in who I am as an individual. I use he/they pronouns.
I moved out of a toxic, abusive household ast summer and am on my own now. Since gaining my independence, I've grown exponentially - from being a straight woman who dressed "comfortable" to an out non-binary trans masc individual and rockstar advocate in my community.
What is Top Surgery?
"Gender therapy focuses on the social, mental, emotional, and physical needs of those who:
- are questioning gender
- are uncomfortable with aspects of their gender or body
- are experiencing gender dysphoria
- don’t exclusively identify with their designated sex at birth".
Why do I need Top Surgery?
- I need a deeper connection to how my body aligns with my mind, especially as a person who has been confied by stringent gender roles and stereotypes and being deeply sexualized growing up.
- I'm uncomfortable with my large breasts. Most days I want to go out without a bra on, which isn’t possible because I have a size 44J chest that impedes on the way I present myself. The masculine clothes I wear don't fit the way I want them to because of my large chest. This leads me to think that I either have severe body dysmorphia or gender dysphoria. . .or maybe even both. There are so many days where I want to be topless at the beach or the pool like other people, but obviously can't due to sex characteristics that I have.
- Trans tape and binders don’t work for me
- Back pain. It’s hard to stand up for even 5 minutes because my lower back hurts so bad. The same goes for walking or lifting objects.
- Driving. It’s often very annoying to drive; my breasts cause the seatbelt to choke me/slide up to my neck; my breasts go so far out to where they sit on my arms, so it’s annoying to turn and maneuver the steering wheel…it takes extra effort.
What will your donation be used for?
Funds will me used to cover the cost of my surgery, and associated is fees. Things include materials for my recovery (a compression vest, pillows, wipes, etc) as well. My current goal is $15,000.
