Dialysis with Disney!

Thank you to all who have donated. I am in tears with the generosity and kindness offered ro my nephew and his family. I honestly didn't think it would happen so fast.

I did the calculations and found it will cost a lot more than I realised for the family to go. Perhaps we can get them a little closer to their holiday. Thank you all so much. May his dreams come true.

Hi, My name is Claire and I am fundraising for my brave and inspiring nephew and help make his dream holiday become a reality.

Cillian is 15 and currently on Haemodialysis 3 days each week. He travels an hour from his home to and from the hospital and then spends 3 hours on the machine. He is waiting on a transplant for the last year. This means NO break from hospitals at all, no Bank holidays, no holidays away, not even able to fully attend school. This is something I often forget, while i take my Bank holiday free from work, they still have to make the same trip for his life saving treatment.

Cillian was born with end stage renal failure and has gone through 38 operations!! He will be having his 39th Operation just before Christmas! Cillian also has to contend with a tube feeding, bladder failure and epilepsy.

Cillian has an incredible personality and does all this with a smile and a joke.

This month his family got some great news.... A suprise "go ahead" from the renal consultants to treat him and take him to Disneyland for a few days where he can also recieve Haemodialysis !!

However, this has to happen sooner than later as his health will continue to decline, needing even more intervention, the longer he waits for his transplant.

As you can imagine this is a huge cost at such short notice, but it is so deserved. His mother is his full time carer, and with two other children to take care of, the cost is excessive. Cillian gets tired very quickly and will need to rest regularly throughout the day. Also, his epilepsy is triggered by tiredness so we need to ensure they stay within Disney itself.

This is the first time we have fund raised for Cillian and we would love your help to get him to his dream holiday. He and his family have been through so much and this will help to give them the boost they need to carry on.
