Cillian's Clan Family Support Fund
Donation protected
On March 14, 2022, we received the horrible news that 3 year old Cillian McNamee was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare cancer that affects the nervous system. It's a form of cancer found mostly in babies and small children. Just a few days later, doctors confirmed through additional testing that the tumor is advanced and he is in a high-risk grouping.
Cillian was admitted to the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center on the 11th. He will remain admitted as they begin his long treatment schedule. We hope that once his initial procedures and treatments are initiated, he will be allowed to return home to his best friend/brother Ronan (2) and sister Emilia (5 mos.). After that, he will be in for an extended treatment schedule that will see a lot of travel and doctor appointments.
In the meantime, Cillian's parents will remain at his bedside while friends and family tend to their home, infant, and other toddler. In a typical week, Dad (Rich) would work his usual 60+ hour work week routine, consisting of his full-time duties as the Assistant Chief of New Paltz Rescue Squad and part-time work as a paramedic for Mobile Life Support. However, the needs of Cillian and his illness will prevent him from working the extra hours he needs to support this young family of 5. On top of the newly expected costs of medical co-pays and travel, this reduced income will quickly place the family in a difficult financial position.
This is obviously hard on all of us, but for now they ask that people NOT text message or call either Rich or Jen. Anyone who wants to reach out in the comments here and when they are up to it, they will read and may respond.
Please consider any support possible, and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
