Cindy needs your help

A couple of years ago, Cindy was diagnosed with hepatic encephalopathy, a chronic condition that causes toxins to build up in her brain. She now struggles with confusion, mental sluggishness, forgetfulness, and difficulty completing everyday tasks. Left untreated, this condition can cause permanent brain damage.

Anyone who went to school with Cindy, worked with her or met her over the years knows her generosity, kindness, strength, and love of laughter. She was like a second mom to all of her kids friends growing up. She’s spent her entire life showing those around her what hard work, perseverance, and unconditional love really look like. These are things that can never be taken from her. But encephalopathy strips her of independence and self-sufficiency.

Her mental decline means she can no longer work. She has been hospitalized multiple times in the past year and requires 24/7 care, especially after breaking her hip in November (2023). She also has severe type 2 diabetes that puts extra strain on her body.

Unfortunately the onslaught of hospital bills, caregiving needed, and life-saving medications she needs are ongoing.

Specifically:

Watching Cindys mental decline has been the most heartbreaking experience for those who call her mom, sister, daughter, wife and friend. At a young age of 60, she still has so much life to live and share with us. Her kids are so proud to have Cindy as their mom and to see the endless ripple effects her spirit has had on the world.
