Cindy Deleo's Stairs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sandy Hickey. I am Cindy Deleo's big sister. On January 21st, she experienced a major blood clot in her left carotid artery, causing aphasia. It affects a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension. It is pretty major at this point, and although we pray she recovers fully, it is going to take months of speech and occupational rehabilitation. Physically, she is walking slowly with a cane, able to feed herself and shower, but poses a danger to herself with regards to her comprehension.
Cindy's stairs to her backyard have been in shambles since Hurricane Ian and Fema refuses to help. Prior to the stroke, she was rejected by them for the last time. She is also lacking handrails on her front steps. She is on Medicaid and now can no longer work or drive. She uses these steps to let her beloved Archie outside, one of her few simple pleasures at the moment.
Because of her limited income, we ask you to please find it in your heart to give just a little so we can insure her safety. Unfortunately she is like a 2/3-year-old and "disappears" at the blink of an eye.
Our sincere appreciation for your generosity,
Cindy's Family
