Cindy was a bright light in this sometimes too dark world. Her smile and warm embrace could lighten even the dimmest of days. She was a wife, mother, friend, and among many other things, a fighter. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Cindy immediately considered her a part of their chosen family.

Over two decades ago, she was diagnosed with diabetes, shortly after marrying her wife and the love her life, Robin. Following her diabetes diagnosis, she started to have heart issues which required stints. In later years, she would have a pacemaker and defibrillator put in, and then the following year, she had triple bypass surgery. 12 years ago, her left leg was amputated below the knee due to a dog bite sustained while working for the Bryan police department, bad circulation, and ultimately a diabetic ulcer on one toe.

She was admitted to the ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan, TX on October 2, 2023 for renal failure, congestive heart failure, and was in danger of losing her other leg. She was moved to CCU once the hospital determined that her pain levels were far too high for her to be able to go back to the comforts of her home. Cindy passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Due to her declining health and ever-increasing hospital visits, her wife was unable to work these past few months. Even when your world feels like it's falling apart and you're taking care of your loved one, general life expenses do not disappear. The world around you continues to move while yours feels like it's on hold.

Robin would like the have Cindy's remains cremated and to be able to hold a Celebration of Life for this amazing woman and fighter we all loved so deeply.

Any donations to help with these services as well as life expenses that have incurred over the past few months would be of tremendous help. If you are unable to donate at this time, please pass this along in the hopes that others will be able to.

I've known Cindy and Robin for many years. They are a part of my chosen family and two of the most wonderful souls I've ever had the pleasure of loving. Cindy has been, and always will be, one of the brightest lights in my life. She had this way of making you feel at home when you were with her. We could sit there and talk about nothing and everything for hours, but it would only ever feel like a few minutes. She was this hilarious, smart, a little bit smart ass-y, loving, firecracker of a woman, and one of the most bad ass people I've ever known. I will miss her so incredibly much, but I also know that this isn't goodbye, rather an "I'll see you later and I can't wait to dance with you when you have two legs again!" - Krystn "Krys" Locke
