Cindy Knight and Family
Donation protected
Most everyone in the Habersham community and certainly everyone in the emergency services family know Cindy Knight. Last year Cindy was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought hard and through her fights, determination, and a double mastectomy, she beat it!! Life was slowly getting back to normal with family and her salon, then around the end of April she started feeling bad again. She went to the doctor and was being treated for a UTI… then a kidney infection… then pneumonia… what seemed like one thing after another. On Mother’s Day she ended up in the ER at NEGA Medical Center with excruciating pain. After scans were done, it was determined that her uterus and ovaries were covered in cancerous cysts… a few weeks later she had a full hysterectomy. Since the hysterectomy, Cindy has been very optimistic about her illness; she was ready to take on the world, but still very weak. Yesterday Cindy was rushed to the ER again, I’m horrific pain… scans were done again and they found that every tumor they had removed two weeks ago was already back and more. As of this morning, Cindy is now on Hospice care and they are just trying to make her comfortable. Anyone who has ever known Cindy, knows that she would be the first to give you the last dime she had or the shirt off of her back. She always put her needs aside to help anyone that she could. She has always been the first person to call when something was going wrong. She helped raise half of the fire fighters we have in our county today. Most call her “Mama Cindy” or simply just “mama”… with Cindy not working and Marty staying by her side through all of this, I’m sure you can imagine that funds are tight. They would be the last to ever ask for anything, but the first who deserve anything and everything we can give them. If you can, anything would be more than appreciated. If you aren’t comfortable with GoFundMe, you can reach out to either me (Kelli) or Katelan… and we can meet with you. I will post updates as often as possible. Please keep this wonderful family in your prayers.
