Hi friends,
I'm writing this on behalf of one of our BFF's (Best Friends Forever, Cindy :). Back in Feb 2021, we learned that she had to have a breast surgery due to some abnormalities found in mammogram. The result was not what everyone was hoping for. They found that ugly cancer. At that point it looked as if stage 1 ductile invasive cancer. They had setup to have bone scan because of back pain and to do other test.
At beginning of March, her back went completely out and she fell in her home and finally was able to contact someone a few hours later. She was rushed to ER and they did a bone MRI on her spine and confirmed that the cancer had spread to her spine. She also had a fracture in the T11. She remained in hospital heavily medicated for pain waiting for surgery to stabilize her back. The fear of course is too much movement could cause her to be paralyzed.
During surgery they removed T11 vertebrae, removed tumor and cemented T12 vertebrae. The majority of cancer in that location was removed and bone graft was done to add support for that area. A few days after surgery they started her physical therapy. She is doing so well with it and after about a week, the doctors decided she could continue to do PT at home. She is currently staying with her daughters to help her with her recovery.
Unfortunately, cancer was also found on her hips. The doctors have also ordered additional test to see if cancer has spread to other bones and brain.
In a couple of weeks she will start with the "chemo pill".
So as you can see Cindy has a long journey ahead of her but she is very, very faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ and we can see how prayers are working for her. He has led her through this far and through him all things are possible.
Cindy has been out of work since this started and now her medical bills are coming in along with medicine and just basic living expenses. If you find it in your hearts to help with these things, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for the support and prayers!!
