Cancer may have started this, but Cindy will kick it's butt outta here for good!
For those that have been keeping up with my sister's condition know that this journey started back on
November 19, 2018. That is the day that changed our family forever. Cindy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.
She is a warrior and has since overcome that battle. Quitting and giving up is NO option in this family, yet alone for Cindy. She has shown much strength, passion, perseverance and true grit. Her 2 young boys have been the mobilizing force that keep her, "keeping up the good fight."
Life has a funny way of things though.
Just shy of her one year anniversary from beating breast cancer, a familiar friend came knocking on the door again.
It was Ovarian Cancer. That felt like a sucker punch in the stomach since we were about to celebrate a whole year of such progress!
We questioned God, we cried, we hugged, and we braced ourselves for yet another battle.
1 week following her 2nd cancer diagnosis, she had to undergo immediate surgery. That brings us to surgery day, today, 6/3/2020. The smile on her face in her gown shows how much she is in it to win it. I admire her strength and positive view of things.
She will endure weeks of recovery from having a full hysterectomy. Phase 2 will come shortly after, along with Dr. visits and treatment, and financial distress will be in the horizon.
With her family and friends by her side we hope we can help alleviate the financial stress and give her piece of mind.
In this difficult time, your act of kindness in giving, small or big will reward a sense of relief.
As a family, we thank all that have shown support, sent prayers and love towards Cindy. We are forever grateful and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
