Cindy's mission trip to Chad

Since I was a child, I have had an interest in and a tender place in my heart for people in Chad and Cameroon, Africa, who have not yet had an opportunity to know who Jesus is. Through the years, I have dreamed of someday visiting our Church of the Lutheran Brethren (CLB) mission areas there and actually meet the people and see /experience some of what I have heard about and prayed for for as long as I can remember!
So, you can imagine my excitement when I learned that I have been selected as one of the team members of our CLB Eastern Region Chad Focus Trip! This team of six people will visit our CLB missionaries and areas of ministry in Chad February 2-13, 2017!
As a member of this team, my prayer and desire is that the Lord’s mission in Chad will become more real to me. I believe that as a result of this experience, I will be better equipped to pray for and support, God’s mission to these beautiful people. My hope is that I will also have many opportunities to share what God shows me with you, and my greater church family upon my return.
While in Chad, our team will be meeting and visiting with the people in their own communities, which will give us insight into their culture, world-view and the place that religion has in their society. While there, we will also participate in holistic ministry (water well installation, refugee relief, mosquito net distribution, etc.)
Additionally, we will spend some time with missionaries already serving in Chad, to better understand how God’s mission is communicated to the church, how His workers are called and how the Gospel is proclaimed through their service and lives. I pray we can be an encuragement to them as well!
I would be so grateful if you could help me raise the funds I need to be able to participate in this mission! These funds raised will cover my flights, immunizations, accomodations and travel while I am in Chad.
