CinemaPsych Podcast Startup Funds

Hi everyone!

I'm starting a podcast that discuss how film and psychology can collide. In this podcast, I'll have a psychologist colleague on the show to discuss a film and its psychological concepts. We're not limited to discussing disorders--the whole of psychology is open.

I've been wanting to start a podcast for a while; this idea came about after months of determining what things I love and what I could talk about for a wide audience.

Though this is mostly a hobby endeavor, I hope my colleagues will find use in the content discussed in the episodes--as a teaching tools, much like other podcasts with psychological content. I also hope that students and general audiences will find some interesting information about film AND psychology to share with their friends and families.

Your initial support should get me and a few others started. Podcasts require additional web-hosting, which as a hobby, is a little outside of my family's budget. I plan to procure hosting for episodes from Podbean.com at $9/month, billed annually at $108.

Additional support would then be used to purchase equipment. While early episodes can be recorded using my default microphones, audio quality will be greatly improved by using industry mics, blockers, etc. Portable audio recorders will be useful when I am at conferences and traveling so I can conduct in-person chats with future guest hosts.
