LIFE as Medicine offers both Services and Trainings, recognizing ongoing colonial legacies arising from Indian Residential Schools, Day Schools and Sixties Scoop. We seek to provide arts based trauma integrating services and trainings to address current and emerging challenges and resiliencies:

We honor Survivors and Descendants, acknowledging that expressed and yet unmet needs are specific to individuals, families, communities, nations, and ecologies, reflecting Lived Experiences, Histories, Geographies and Intersectionalities.

We nurture Indigenous children and youth, acknowledging continued colonial legacy of disproportional representation of Indigenous children in child welfare systems and mental health services. We wish to support our Descendants to rise as our hope for a more sustainable Future.

We nourish Indigenous women and girls, acknowledging historic and current high levels of gender based violence (GBV) and mortality. We are sensitive in working with the specific structural vulnerabilities we continue to experience as well recognizing embodied wisdoms gained.

We welcome Gender fluid, Trans Gendered, IndigiQueer Peoples, acknowledging high rates of suicide completion of our young people, especially in Northern Communities, and seek to restore Sacredness of our Two Spirited Ceremonial Bundles.

LIFE as Medicine offers Educational and Healing opportunities for Indigenous and Ally peoples, including post-secondary and professional in service training, that integrates Indigenous Healing Arts (including Expressive Arts, Art Therapy, Eco-Arts and Ceremonial Arts).

LIFE as Medicine provides Arts-Based Learning and Healing Opportunities to Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Organizations who are offering services for and with Indigenous Peoples to assist in program transformation and to enhance sustainability for all involved.

LIFE as Medicine provides assistance to Indigenous and Ally students studying Healing Arts to assist in accessing adequate financial, emotional and academic supports necessary for success, including scholarships, bursaries, advising and advocacy.
