Findlay City Mission
Hello Everyone,
The City Mission of Findlay is a Christian organization and a shelter for the homeless. Their mission is to address the physical, spiritual, occupational, and mental health needs of the homeless and hungry via joint initiatives. To provide compassion, time, and resources to assist people they serve in making life-altering decisions.
The funds from this campaign will go towards City Mission of Findlay's "S.W.O.R.D Program," a six-month discipleship program aimed at assisting individuals in transition in laying a Christ-centered foundation and acquiring the skills they'll need to succeed in the future. During this program, each disciple must complete many tasks before graduating, including 100 hours of community service, creating a plan for the future such as housing, employment, education, as well as spiritual goals. They must also successfully complete multiple classes to strengthen their spiritual beliefs. The last step before graduating from the S.W.O.R.D Program is at least two City Mission staff members, one pastor, and one peer must provide letters of recommendation outlining specific experiences that demonstrate successful discipleship.
Your donation will assist in covering the cost of graduation from the discipleship training. For each disciple, the cost of graduation is roughly $500. This total includes a personalized bible, a graduation dinner, as well as expenses throughout the training period. The City Mission of Findlay hopes to graduate 15 disciples in the year 2022, coming to a total of $7,500. Though the goal for this fundraiser is only set at $1,000, it would mean a great deal to us, as well as the staff at City Mission and of course the individuals graduating from the S.W.O.R.D Program if we can exceed that goal.
Though there is not much each of us can do to entirely help someone in need, a small donation to City Mission of Findlay can go a long way. With colder months upon us, the homeless will need shelter and food now more than ever.
Please join us in showing the less fortunate that they are not alone by generously donating what you can.
The Vision of City Mission:
"As a viable and effective emergency shelter and life recovery program the City Mission of Findlay seeks to end homelessness and hunger by providing food, shelter, discipleship, and access to essential services to men, women, and children."
