Cityview ESP Strike Support

We are raising $5000 that will be divided evenly among Cityview’s ESPs (Education Support Professionals) to offset a potential week’s loss of paychecks. This will be given to ESPs in the form of Visa Gift Cards. If more is donated, that money would be distributed to offset for an additional week’s loss of pay. In the case that we strike for less than a week, this money will still be given to ESPs in honor of their historically undervalued service.
Cityview’s ESPs are the heart of our schools. An ESP could be employed as dean, restorative advocate, safety and security, special education assistant (SEA), assistant educator (AE), bilingual assistant educator, or family liaison. The ESPs in our school are many of Cityview’s longest-standing employees. They live in the community, are parents and family members of MPS students, and alumni themselves. They share the same diversity as our students. It is of our opinion that these educators have the most significant impact on our students as a whole and deserve pay that reflects that.
