helping a village and my family

Hello, I'm Lete Robison. I was adopted from a country in Africa called Ethiopia in 2010. In 2020, a civil war broke out between two people groups, one of which was from my hometown. Like any civil war, it left millions of civilians' lives overtaken by destruction and trauma. 620,000 people died. 120,000 women and girls were assaulted, homes were destroyed, and food and water, the necessities of human life, were not accessible. Children watched as their mothers and fathers were killed in front of them. No human should have to go through what these innocent people experienced. This war has left a whole region of Ethiopia, people who had so little to begin with, not knowing where their next meal is going to come from. I feel so much pain for my people, As I read story after story I cry- for my village and all those affected. Here I am, blessed to be in America, living what you call the American dream while people are going through so much pain, a deep pain that I can not possibly imagine or understand. Knowing this could have been happening to me had I not been adopted and been blessed with the best life that God has given me, has stirred up in me a desire to do something. Since my adoption, we have been able to stay in contact with my family in Ethiopia who still live in a small, poor village in the distant countryside. My village was directly affected by this war. By God's grace, we traveled to Ethiopia many times through the years to visit my family and help them out. In September 2023, my family received some devastating news- one of my sisters who still lived in Ethiopia went to war and lost her life fighting for her people. It was so painful to hear those words as my Dad got the message from our dear friend in Ethiopia. My sister was just 20 years old. She was an orphan herself and had nothing. She was just trying to make it through life. For her life to be taken away due to an unnecessary civil war… I had a small, personal glimpse of what millions of people were experiencing. Even though the war ended almost a year ago, many lives are still suffering from the aftermath. There is so much need. I want to do something for the people of my village. Many families lost everything. When my family and I last traveled to my village in 2020, we were able to help the village with some needs. Clean water was one of the main needs in my village. We were able to help them dig a well, allowing them access to clean water for the first time. They drank dirty water which then led to sickness. Before the war, they had very little, now they are desperate for food from day to day. Raising money and sending it over to my family and my village is my dream and my passion. With your help, we can help. Please know that anything you give is going straight to the village where my family is and to their life-sustaining needs. My family plans to travel back to Ethiopia this spring. I thank you for your support in my efforts to help my people. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. -Lete Robison
I was painting the little kid's fingernail. This was so special to them.
The last time we visited was in January of 2020
They are so such sweet kids.
Many are still in trauma and are still dealing with lost ones.
