Hi, my name is Jennifer Mullis, and I am raising funds to help pay for my husband's medical expenses. I am so proud of my husband, Dan Mullis, and what he does. He builds America. He is a Local 1 Union Iron Worker and Veteran. (Thank you for your service as both a Marine and US Army Veteran). More importantly, he is an outstanding father, loving husband, friend, brother and son. He is our rock!
I will never forget the day I saw blood on our comforter and wondered how long that had been going on.
In September 2022, Dan underwent a CT scan due to his coughing blood; we never expected the result would be Stage 4 Melanoma. The diagnosis that resulted from the CT Scan, PET Scan and biopsy showed a large mass in Dan's lower right lung lobe. There is also a possibility of lymph nodes being affected and removed. To save Dan's life, he will undergo lung surgery on October 28th, 2022. After that, he will need to undergo immunotherapy every few months to kill the melanoma. While immunotherapy has few side effects, Dan will experience fatigue after his treatments, leading to missed days at work.
With so many doctor appointments and missed work (he only makes money when he works), it will be challenging to make ends meet financially. I am asking for help. Many of you who know me know I never ask for help. Dan is the kind of person who would take the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He is a fantastic father and my best friend. So please know this is not easy.
Dan will fight for his life, and we do not want to lose him. We would be forever grateful if you could spare even $5 to help reduce the financial stress. Dan will have a long journey ahead of him, given the aggressive nature of Melanoma. We hope and are very optimistic that he will make a full recovery.
I am not sure what our journey will look like after Dan's surgery, but I know that money will be very tight. I ask for your help for so many reasons, but mostly because I love my husband, and I really need help to keep things going so that he can recover without stress and worry. So that he can live to enjoy his life, his family and his friends for years to come, he loves life, and we love him more than life!
