Tay’s Top Surgery Fund

Hey everyone :)

This feels like a long time coming but I have finally set up a fundraiser for my top surgery. I’ve been anxious and apprehensive about being open about something so personal online, but I can’t put it off any longer. If you didn’t know, I’m trans maculine :) allowing myself to explore my queerness and gender has brought me more comfort and confidence than I have ever known, and I really love the person I have become. However, to achieve my masculine appearance I wear a chest binder almost every day, often for longer than I should, which has been causing me pain in my chest and ribs. I look forward to the day where I won’t need a binder anymore, when my body is aligned with how I see myself, to taking deep breaths, sunbathing shirtless and not worrying about what to wear in the summer, the list goes on.

I was very lucky that my good friend Andrea previously set up a gofundme on my behalf late last year, before I was ready to be open about this, and I am so grateful to them and everyone who donated. And now I have arrived at a point where I am ready to ask for something I so deeply need.

So I’m asking if anyone can donate even the smallest amount or share this post around, I would be so happy and grateful.

** UPDATE- I have now made the decision to go to turkey for my surgery, after a lot of thinking and finding an great surgeon, it’s the right step for me. Raising and saving up £10,000+ just isn’t feasible for my situation right now. Very excited that this means I will be able to access surgery sooner, and I also know that I will still get the chest I’m after, as the results from the hospital I’m going with are amazing too!
