Clague's Longest Day Golf Challenge

On Friday 21st June, I will be taking on the Longest Day Golf Challenge, along with my Dad, brother Max and a close family friend. We will tee off as the sun rises at 5am to play 4 rounds of golf at the Weald of Kent Golf Club in Headcorn, and we hope to finish our challenge before the sun sets around 9pm.

Sponsored by my employers, Clague Architects, we will collectively hit more than 850 shots, walk more than 80 miles and probably end up with more aches, pains and blisters than we even want to contemplate, BUT it is all in aid of two very good causes that mean a great deal to our family.

Having lost 2 uncles to cancer, one when I was young and one in 2019, the Pilgrims Hospice is a cause that has shown our family enormous support. The expert care and support they provide to patients and families who are dealing with a terminal diagnosis is invaluable, making difficult times a little easier to bear.

In 2020, I became an uncle to Max's identical twin boys. They were born 12 weeks early after a very complicated pregnancy. Sadly, one of the twins only survived a few hours and 4Louis were the charity that provided precious support when it was needed most. They support child loss and fund a range of support from bereavement suites within NHS hospitals across the UK, specialist memory boxes, cuddle cots and more.

After such difficult times, we are keen to give something back to those who have supported us and to ensure that these special charities are there for other local families in the future.
